GOTS & GRS

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is a voluntary and worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres and is relevant certification for biological origin and social standards. GOTS certified factories succeed this standard including ecological and social criteria which is backed up by independent third-party certification and reaches through the complete textile supply chain. GOTS covers processing, manufacturing, packaging, labelling, trading, and distribution of material that then must contain
at least 70% certified organic fibres.

The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) is a voluntary product standard designed to track and confirm the presence of recycled materials in a final product. The GRS standard applies to the entire supply chain, encompasses traceability, ecological principles, social criteria and chemical content, and established criteria for third-party certification of recycled content, environmental and social practices, and chemical limitations. In certified factories, the GRS label covers processing, manufacturing, packaging, labeling, trading, and distribution of products that must contain at least 20% recycled material.

BLANCHE uses GOTS and GRS labelled factories for production of recycled and organic material. These factories reach international understanding of environmentally friendly production systems and social accountability within the organic and recycled textile sectors, which we believe aligns with our values of contributing to a more responsible fashion industry.
