How does Seawool feel compared to wool?
The outcome is a warm, sturdy material that is soft, thick, and durable. It regulates body temperature and is moisture-wicking, antibacterial, odor-resistant, and anti-static. The versatility of this fabric is comparable to that of natural wool.
How is Seawool recycled?
The oysters used in Seawool are supplied from either sustainable oyster farms or the food industry. There are currently four million tons of wasted oyster shells in the world; while they are biodegradable, they do not disintegrate quickly, which means they take up a lot of space if not upcycled in some way. The pulverized oyster shells give the cloth a wool-like, fibrous feel.
Why do we use Seawool?
Blanche has chosen to use Seawool because it has many excellent properties, is sustainable and is very similar to natural wool. In our search for the best and most sustainable materials, Seawool stands out.
